His rights belong to the Orlando franchise. Vick already has served an 18-month sentence in federal prison for his involvement in a dogfighting ring.

49ers Team Report (Yahoo! Sports)

Coach Mike Singletary says the San Francisco 49ers‘ quarterback competition is too close to call.

However, he acknowledges that if it’s too close to call, the job will likely go to Shaun Hill, who finished the second half of last season as the team’s starter and might be the person most responsible for Singletary getting the job as the 49ers‘ full-time coach.

The 49ers probably feel a lot better about their quarterback situation now than when the offseason began. The 49ers appeared ready to offer Arizona Cardinals free agent Kurt Warner a contract in the neighborhood of $15 million a season to leap to the 49ers.

But Warner remained with the Cardinals, and the 49ers had no other choice but to stick with Hill and Smith.

Supreme Court to hear NFL licensing case
In taking a case involving the National Football League’s exclusive licensing deal for sports merchandise, the Supreme Court could go beyond caps and give leagues more leeway in areas such as team relocation, legal scholars said Monday. “A broad ruling in favor of the NFL could rewrite almost all of sports antitrust law,” said Gabe Feldman, associate law professor and director of the Sports Law Program at Tulane University in New Orleans. Bills owner in no hurry to add games in Toronto
Buffalo Bills owner Ralph Wilson is in no hurry to have his team play more than one regular-season game in Toronto. Wilson told The Associated Press on Sunday he’d prefer waiting “two or three years” to determine whether the northern experiment is a success before he’d consider reworking the contract reached last year with Toronto-based Rogers Communications.
